Door Entry & Warden Call Engineer
Location: Field-Based (Kent & Surrey)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Door Entry & Warden Call Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This field-based role involves maintaining, repairing, installing, and commissioning door entry, access control, and warden call systems across a variety of client environments including housing, healthcare, commercial, and residential sites across Kent and Surrey.
This is a critical position supporting life-safety systems, where reliability, technical skill, and customer service are essential.

Key Responsibilities
?? Maintenance & Repairs

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
Respond to call-outs within agreed timeframes (typically 2–4 hours)
Achieve high first-time fix rates
Complete accurate service records after each visit

?? Technical Fault Finding

Diagnose and resolve faults across multiple system types
Carry out system configuration, firmware updates, and resets
Work with platforms such as Paxton, Tynetec, Tunstall, Comelit
Identify and implement system improvements where required

?? Installation & Commissioning

Install and commission:

Door entry systems (e.g. Comelit, Entrotec, Fermax, GDX)
Access control systems (Paxton, PAC, KMS, cloud-based)
Warden call systems (Tynetec XT2, Reach Digital, Tunstall)


Conduct site surveys and design system solutions
Complete wiring and containment in line with BS 7671
Produce commissioning documentation and handovers

?? Client Interaction

Provide on-site support and basic training to end users
Maintain strong relationships with clients and site staff
Accurately log time, materials, and job updates
Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota

? Compliance & Safety

Follow health & safety procedures and industry standards
Ensure all work meets current regulations (including BS 7671)
Maintain high-quality workmanship and documentation
Promote a safety-first approach at all times


Requirements
? Essential

3–5 years’ experience with door entry, access control, or warden/nurse call systems
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
Experience working independently across multiple sites
Knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations
Familiarity with systems such as Paxton, Tynetec, Tunstall, or Comelit
Good communication and customer service skills
Full UK driving licence

? Desirable

Experience with Tynetec XT2 / Reach Digital or Tunstall platforms
Knowledge of Paxton Net2 or Paxton10
Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition)
ECS / CSCS card
Experience integrating CCTV, fire alarms, or BMS systems
First Aid certification
